SC ST Teacher Association Nainital Submits Memorandum to Chief Minister via City Magistrate Haldwani

The SC ST Teacher Association Nainital submitted a memorandum to the Honorable Chief Minister through the City Magistrate of Haldwani. While submitting the memorandum, District President Virendra Tamta said that the Justice Irshad Hussain Committee was formed in 2012 but its report has not been made public till now. The committee had submitted its report to the government in January 2016.

He also raised concerns about the issues caused by the new reservation roster system implemented after 2019 and requested the government to solve them without delay.

District General Secretary Deep Darshan said that there is very little representation of SC and ST categories in departmental promotions. This goes against the constitutional right of proper representation. He also demanded that the shortage of teachers in primary and secondary schools be filled soon. He asked for the appointment of headmasters and principals in every school. Along with that, he requested the recruitment of attendants and cleaning staff in schools as early as possible.

Vice President Vijay Kumar said that the scholarship process is too complicated. As a result, 70 to 80 percent of students are not able to get its benefits. He said that the process must be made easier.

District Patron Harishchandra said that if the government does not take the concerns of the SC ST Teacher Association Nainital seriously by June 7, 2025, then the association will begin a state-wide protest along with other SC and ST organizations.

Among those present during the submission of the memorandum were Girish Berry, Manoj Kumar Trikoti, Tribhuvan Agragami, Harishchandra Arya, Chandra Prakash, Sunita Arya, Manju Rani, Jagdish Kumar Vimal, Hiralal Agri, Hemant Kumar and many other teachers.
