Swami Yashveer Maharaj was stopped at the Narson border while heading to Haridwar to verify hotels and dhabas along the Kanwar Yatra route.
In a surprising development ahead of Kanwar Yatra 2025, Swami Yashveer Maharaj, the head of Yog Sadhana Ashram, was stopped by police at the Uttarakhand-UP border near Narson on Friday. He was en route to Haridwar to conduct a verification drive of hotels and roadside eateries along the Kanwar Yatra route.
Stopped for Verification Drive Along Kanwar Yatra Route
According to sources, Yashveer Maharaj had planned a campaign to verify the names and activities of hotels operating in Haridwar during the Kanwar Yatra 2025. However, the Uttarakhand police denied him entry, halting his progress at the border itself.
Soon after he was stopped, several of his supporters also reached the Narson police post, leading to a tense atmosphere in the area.
No Official Reason Stated by Authorities
While no official reason has been provided by the local administration, it is being speculated that the move was made as a precautionary measure ahead of the Kanwar Yatra 2025, to avoid any unforeseen disturbance during the sensitive pilgrimage period.
Coordination efforts are reportedly ongoing between the Uttarakhand Police and local officials to resolve the matter.

With Kanwar Yatra 2025 expected to see massive participation from across northern India, state authorities have already begun implementing strict security and regulatory measures. The incident involving Yashveer Maharaj could be an early sign of heightened vigilance this year.
